New Residential Accommodation Opening Celebration

On the 9th of July Bradstow School proudly announced the opening of its new residential accommodation. Young people, parents, carers, friends, governors, staff and local neighbours came together to enjoy the opening ceremony celebration. 


The headteacher of the school Sarah Dunn gave a speech to mark the opening of the new buildings and the projects significance to the school in improving the quality of the environment and sustaining the provision.


The new residential buildings are dedicated in loving memory to the late Chair of the Governing Body, Joe Murphy.

Joe's wife Maureen Murphy (pictured below unveiling the memorial plaque with her family) cut the ribbon declaring the new buildings open.

Maureen and Joe's son was a pupil at Bradstow School.


Local MP Craig Mackinlay (pictured below left with the Head of Residential Services, Jim Connolly) visited the school in order to see the new accomodation and the provision offered.


There was opportunity for all guests to tour the new buildings at their lesuire.


Then guests made their way on to the front field where the festivities continued...


 .....with fantastic live music from a local group the InterSeptors Showband....


The was a delicious buffet lunch and each class provided a stall.


Class 5 sold books


Class 4 had a photobooth


Class 3 had a bakesale


and Class 7 ran a coconut shy
