Learning Resources Centre
The learning resource centre is run by the speech and language therapist with two learning resource co-ordinators.
The aim of the LRC is to design and produce resources which are accessible to our children & young people. This involves modifying existing resources, for example stories and recipes in order to put them into a format which is meaningful for our children & young people. The learning resource co-ordinator also designs new resources in order to help the children & young people to learn and access the curriculum.
We make resources in a range of formats, including the use of symbols and photographs in the place of words, video and multi-media resources as well as the use of real objects to aid learning.
The LRC supports a range of projects across the school, including ASDAN, speech and language therapy groups, signing resources, interactive stories and whiteboard work.
