Music Communication

Music-CommunicationThe Music Communication Specialist at Bradstow School works with individual children & young people and with small groups to promote the learning of specific skills.

Music is a great medium and language that allows children & young people to express and communicate freely and independently.  It allows for creativity, exploration, and fun, whilst encouraging other communication skills such as focusing and developing confidence, social interaction, reaction, self-expression and listening.

Sessions are based around practical activities and games to participate in music-making and singing songs.  Each term we cover a topic such as; film music, world music, reggae, or stories and the students will explore the theme through listening and appraisal, playing instruments, performing and composing.

In the music department there are the technical facilities to develop create projects with the young people such as recording a song and writing and making their own music on a midi sequencer.

There is also the opportunity to play and learn an instrument such as the piano, keyboard, guitar, electric guitar, recorder and drumkit.
