Family / Carer Support

We understand that a transition to a new school can be a major change for all of the family.  Throughout a student’s time at Bradstow we want to establish close links and communication with all families to ensure that we can support not only the student’s needs but also to enable each family to continue and build on their relationship with their child.

This can be achieved in the following ways:

  • Each child had a key worker who acts as an advocate and liaises regularly with the family.
  • Weekly letters home – sent by students recording their weekly activities. 
  • Holiday feedback sheets – completed by families and any information or queries given to the school will be followed up with the family. 
  • Parents flat is available to enable families to visit, spend time with their child. 
  • Open week for the opportunity to discuss their Childs progress with educational/ residential staff. 
  • Event days, i.e. Christmas shows, summer fayres.  
  • Parents/ Carers workshop on general subjects commonly requested by families. 
  • Telephone support available both during school term and holidays e.g. to discuss any issues. 
  • Individual family meetings to discuss any issues or concerns e.g. developing routines at home and how this is established at school
