Short Term Breaks

The school offers Short Break provision for young people currently enrolled at the school, either day or residential, who may have difficulty accessing alternative provision.

The policies and procedures currently in place are applicable during the Short Break provision. There will be an emphasis on social and leisure activities whilst continuing the Care Policy ethos of maximising social and emotional skills, self-confidence/image and self-care skills.

The young people stay in ‘The Woodlands’, a complex of 3 modern, spacious, purpose built, well equipped 8 bedded units situated in the grounds of the school.

The provision is managed by a designated manager and the young people will be cared for by existing staff members from the school who will have a good knowledge of the young persons needs and behaviours.

A member of the schools senior management team is also on call 24 hours a day.

There is a full package of activities for the young people to participate in with a wide variety of activities that are relaxing, stimulating and offers the chance for physical exercise. All of the schools facilities are available for use during their time here including the use of the fleet of vehicles.

At the end of the stay you will receive a bound diary on how they have been and what they have participated in each day including lots of photographs.

All bookings must be made through your social worker who will be responsible for all fees.

You can be safe in the knowledge that by using Bradstow Schools Short Break Care provision your young person will have an enjoyable time in a safe and happy environment, cared for by people they know and who know them.
