Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland just a few hundred metres from the sandy beaches of Broadstairs. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management.

Residential Services Operations Manager

£56,148 plus sleeping in allowance

Permanent position

41 hours per week, all year round.

The aim of this post is to manage, plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the Residential Services. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, quality, compliance and the efficiency of the Residential Services and the organisational operations.

Residential Services Operations Manager : Job Description

HR Manager

£34,788 - £37,849

Permanent position

37 hours per week, happy to discuss flexible working.

We are looking for an experienced people manager to lead the HR department and provide a high quality and efficient service to the school. This role includes liaising with other Wandsworth Council departments including Human Resources, Pensions and Payroll, as well as providing strategic advice to the Senior Management Team. The post holder will be Level 7 CIPD qualified, and experience within an education setting or the Public Sector would be advantageous.

Team Support Worker - Education

£15,731 (Actual term time only salary, all year round equivalent £18,065)

Permanent position

37.5 hours per week, 08:30 – 16:30 Monday – Friday, Term-Time only* (38 weeks per year plus 5 days training totalling 39 weeks per year)

*You will be required to work up to a maximum of two weeks for the school’s short term break provision if required, for which an extra payment will be made.

Using your experience of working with children and young people with Additional Educational Needs and Challenging Behaviour, you will work alongside colleagues to support a group of students in a classroom setting. You will be required to take on responsibility for a variety of everyday tasks as directed by teaching staff.

With guidance from teaching staff you will work as part of the class team to implement all aspects of the students’ educational programme and will play an important role in safeguarding the students’ health and safety.

Awareness of the needs of, and experience of working with children and young people with Learning Difficulties, Autism and Challenging Behaviour will be a distinct advantage.

Team Support Worker : Job Description

Individual Learning Support Assistant

£15,418 (Actual term time only salary, all year round equivalent £17,711)

Keyworker – Extended Provision (All Year Round)

£23,923 - £26,413

Permanent position

41 hours per week. All year round

Working as part of the childcare team, this role involves providing care and support to students mornings, evenings and weekends, being a student’s Keyworker and some management responsibility.

The hours for this post includes some shifts starting from 7.30am, some finishes at 10.00pm and weekend work.

For this post you will need to be willing to commit to achieving the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years of beginning employment at the school.

Keyworker – Extended Provision (All Year Round): Job Description

Childcare Support Assistant

£18,545 (Actual term time only salary inclusive of 10% unsociable hours allowance)

Permanent position

41 hours per week, Term-Time only (38 weeks per year plus 5 days training totalling 39 weeks per year)

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the residential unit where a named student, who has been identified as requiring additional support, resides during out-of-school hours. The duties will not be confined solely to the named student but also involve working with other students in the residential unit. In addition, if term-time only, the post holder will be required to commit to an additional two weeks respite care work during the school holidays for which additional payment will be made.

The hours for this post include split shifts, some starts from 7.30am, some finishes at 10.00pm and weekend work.

No formal qualifications or experience are necessary for this post, but the member of staff will be required to commit to achieving the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years of beginning employment at the school.

The purpose of this role is to assist Cooks in provision of meals to pupils and staff.

We are looking for a member of staff to work in our lively kitchen Monday – Wednesday and Fridays from 8am – 1pm, term time only.
